Community Standards & Code of Conduct
Our Commitment to Community
Lesbian Culture Club exists to create meaningful opportunities for connection, belonging, and community among queer women, trans, and nonbinary people.
We believe strong communities are built on mutual respect, shared responsibility, open dialogue, and a willingness to learn from one another.
We also recognize that community is not always without conflict. Different perspectives, constructive criticism, and difficult conversations are important parts of creating spaces that are inclusive and accountable.
Our goal is not to eliminate disagreement. It is to establish a foundation of respect that allows our community to grow.
1. Respect One Another
We ask everyone participating in LCC spaces, whether in person or online, to engage with others respectfully.
Discrimination, harassment, threats, intimidation, bullying, and targeted personal attacks are not acceptable.
This includes behavior directed toward members, guests, volunteers, event partners, and LCC team members.
We expect participants to respect people's identities, personal boundaries, and individual experiences.
2. Feedback and Accountability
We welcome thoughtful feedback, questions, and constructive criticism.
We recognize that we won't always get everything right, and we believe accountability is an important part of building a healthy community.
Members and community participants are encouraged to share concerns, challenge decisions, and offer perspectives that help us improve.
Disagreement with LCC, its leadership, or its programming is not, by itself, a violation of our community standards.
However, criticism does not justify threats, discriminatory language, targeted harassment, or repeated unwanted personal contact.
We ask that conversations remain focused on concerns, experiences, and opportunities for improvement rather than personal attacks.
3. Online Engagement
Our community extends beyond physical gatherings to include our website, app, social media channels, and other digital spaces.
We encourage open and respectful dialogue across these platforms.
We do not tolerate:
- Threats of violence or intimidation
- Discriminatory or hateful language
- Targeted harassment or bullying
- Sharing another person's private information without consent
- Repeated unwanted contact intended to intimidate or distress
- Encouraging others to harass or threaten an individual
These standards apply to participation in LCC-managed spaces. We may also consider relevant conduct outside those spaces when it creates a credible safety concern for our members or events.
4. Privacy and Consent
Respecting privacy is an important part of creating a community where people feel safe participating.
Please respect the privacy of fellow members and event attendees.
Do not share another person's private contact information, personal circumstances, or sensitive information without their permission.
Photography, videos, and social media sharing should be approached thoughtfully, with respect for individual boundaries and consent.
5. In-Person Events and Gatherings
LCC events are intended to be welcoming spaces for connection.
We ask attendees to:
- Respect personal boundaries and consent
- Treat fellow attendees, staff, and venue partners with consideration
- Refrain from harassment, discrimination, and threatening behavior
- Follow reasonable safety instructions from event organizers and venue staff
- Respect the privacy of other participants
Everyone deserves the opportunity to participate without fear of intimidation or harassment.
6. Addressing Concerns
If you experience or witness behavior that may violate these standards, please contact us at hi@lesbiancultureclub.com.
We take concerns seriously and will review them with care.
When possible and appropriate, we aim to address concerns through communication, clarification, and opportunities for resolution.
Depending on the circumstances, LCC may take steps such as:
- Requesting that behavior stop
- Removing harmful content from LCC-managed platforms
- Restricting participation in LCC-managed online spaces
- Removing an individual from an event
- Suspending or terminating membership or participation when warranted
We will consider the nature, severity, and context of the behavior when determining an appropriate response.
We will not penalize someone simply for expressing criticism, reporting concerns in good faith, or disagreeing with LCC leadership.
7. Building Community Together
We believe community is something we create collectively.
It requires openness, compassion, accountability, and a shared commitment to treating one another with dignity.
We won't always agree, and we won't always get everything right.
But we can commit to listening, learning, and creating spaces where people feel respected, valued, and welcome.
Thank you for helping us build that kind of community.
