We are grown-ass lesbians who found ourselves longing for time and space with other queer women—for more of the magic that happens when you look around a room and feel an innate sense of belonging. The pulse-quickening excitement. We used to feel it at queer dance parties and lesbian bars, but those don’t quite hit the spot anymore. Instead of longing for it, we decided to create it.

We exist to create spaces where queer women can gather and experience the magic of exuberant, unabashed joy together.
What We Do
The specific things we do will surely evolve over time, as we learn and reflect what our community wants and needs. But for now, we host classy events, we create spaces for connection, and we sell apparel that’s designed to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
Our Team
Carrie Hinton, Founder & CEO
Carrie Hinton is the CEO of Good & Gold and the Lesbian Culture Club, two innovative organizations based in Portland. With over 15 years of leadership experience, Carrie is a purpose-driven leader known for her creativity in solving problems, connecting people, and helping them move forward. She studied film and marketing at the Brooks Institute in Ventura, CA, and worked in Los Angeles film production before moving to Portland in 2007, where she spent five years as advertising director and publisher of Portland Monthly, driving new revenue streams through innovative thinking.
Carrie drives the strategic direction and performance of her companies, delivering transformative results for clients and community. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family. Carrie’s passions include fashion, art, environmental sustainability, fly fishing, backpacking, cooking, and exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Marli Williams, Director of Experiences
Marli Williams is an international speaker, leadership trainer, and master facilitator, who first fell in love with transformational leadership as a camp counselor. She has a Master’s Degree in Education along with 20 years of facilitation and leadership experience. Marli is stoked to bring her love of building community and creating meaningful experiences to the Lesbian Culture Club. She is the host of the Let’s Lead Together Podcast, which hit the Top 5% of all Podcasts Globally within just a month of launching. And is the creator of The Connect Deck, a card deck that provides prompts for shockingly easy and meaningful conversations, which has been used by communities worldwide. When she’s not speaking, training leaders, or consulting with impact-driven organizations, you can find Marli hiking on the trails with her dogs Summit & Journey and making the most epic ‘Snacklebox’ for all her outdoor adventures with her partner and friends.
Evie Smith Hatmaker, Director of Communications
Evie Smith Hatmaker is a seasoned communications expert with nearly 20 years of experience, specializing in working with queer brands and industry disruptors. She was at the forefront of the sex tech movement in 2019, championing women’s pleasure while normalizing conversation and recognition around it. Previously, Evie founded and led Rebellious PR, a mission-driven agency that championed companies led by underrepresented founders. Under her guidance, Rebellious PR grew to a 30-person team and earned widespread media recognition for its clients, solidifying its reputation as a powerful force for good in the industry. Evie started her career in Silicon Valley, working with cutting-edge consumer and high-tech companies in the mid-2000s. In 2021, Evie was honored on the Portland Business Journal’s Most Influential Women and 40 Under 40 lists. Evie has made regular appearances on Marketplace Radio as an LGBTQIA+ business expert.
Shanon Emerson, Marketing & Operations
Shanon Emerson has over 20 years of experience as a freelance and in-house creative, known for blending strategic insight, artistic vision, and collaboration to craft compelling, audience-centered experiences. She excels at transforming complex ideas into impactful projects, guiding them from concept to execution with a focus on meaningful results.
As a somatic coach trained in Somatic Experiencing, Shanon helps individuals and groups shed limiting patterns and uncover new possibilities, fostering authentic expression and creativity. Enchanted by storytelling's power to connect and inspire, Shanon's unique perspective informs all her work.
