Lesbian and queer fashion has never been one thing. It’s not a single aesthetic, a single silhouette, or a single vibe. It’s a universe: masc, femme, soft, sharp, clean, chaotic, poetic, and it reflects the vastness of who we are.
Fashion, for many in the LGBTQ+ community, has always been more than clothes. It’s communication. It’s code. It’s lineage. It’s flagging, a way of saying “I see you” long before we could say it out loud.

And yet despite queer fashion’s deep cultural roots, our aesthetics are constantly being absorbed, reinterpreted, or outright co-opted by the mainstream. The mullet, androgynous tailoring, workwear silhouettes, “dirty girl” grunge, soft-masc minimalism — all trends that lived in queer communities for years before becoming runway staples or TikTok aesthetics.
But even as broader culture borrows, queer fashion remains distinctly ours because of what it means to us. A haircut isn’t just a haircut. A tank top isn’t just a tank top. A suit isn’t just a suit. These choices tell stories about identity, attraction, presentation, and belonging.
“Sometimes straight culture adopts the looks we’ve built, and suddenly you can’t tell who’s queer just by the haircut. But that’s part of the evolution too — we still find ways to see each other.” - Nic, LCC Creative Director
And that’s what makes lesbian and queer fashion so compelling:
its range, its elasticity, its refusal to sit quietly inside any one category.

- We have the Power Lesbian — tailored, minimal, commanding.
- The Soft Butch — relaxed, tender masc energy.
- The Butch — classic dyke strength, timeless and unapologetic.
- The Low Femme — low femme grunge with seductive chaos.
- Gender Queer — fluid, experimental, delightfully uncontainable.
- The High Femme — glamour weaponized into confidence.

It’s an entire ecosystem of expression, each archetype a portal into identity.
And this January, we’re bringing that full spectrum to life.
On January 31, Lesbian Culture Club is partnering with Frances May to present The Lesbian Lookbook, Live — a fashion-show-meets-cocktail-party that centers lesbian and queer aesthetics in all their forms. Unlike traditional fashion shows, this one is built for us. You’ll see yourself on the runway — or, more accurately, in the shop — reflected in the clothes, the energy, the attitude.

We’re not recreating a standard catwalk. We’re creating a living, breathing lookbook of queer identity, featuring community members, archetypes we adore, and styling that speaks to the way lesbians and queer folks actually dress, attract, and express.
“In regular fashion shows, you don’t always see yourself. But here, you’ll see your friends. Your community. Your people.” - Carrie, LCC Founder/CEO
If queer fashion is a language, this event is a conversation, one built on visibility, lineage, creativity, and joy.
